3,TNG Card Game - Warp Pack

Star Trek: The Next Generation Customisable Card Game

Warp Pack

In June 1995, Decipher released a 12 card pack to accompany their
Star Trek: The Next Generation Customisable Card Game entitled the
"Warp Pack". This pack was given away free (!) to any collector who
wanted one as a way of apologising for the difficulties some players
have had in starting off playing the game.
Decipher have admitted that many collectors may have found it
difficult to start playing with just a 60-card starter deck, so this
Warp Pack features an additional 12 cards, including 5 cards that are
new to the series, to get players started.
Included with the deck are 7 mission cards, a neutral outpost, 2
characters (including Scotty!), Yellow Alert and the new interrupt
card Countermanda (a rather powerful card!). All of the cards are
designated as common cards, thus avoiding the problems of the packs
becomming scarce because of their value. As well as this, there is a
small leaflet enclosed with information on the enclosed cards along
with a rules amendment to the standard rules booklet.
All of the cards are White Border editions and have a 1995 copyright
date on them so even if you have the full set of White Border cards,
the new copyright date will make them different to your exisiting
cards from a collectible point of view.
To get the packs, all you need to do is go into your local gaming
shop and ask for one - it's as simple as that. You won't need to buy
anything else, or even pay for the pack - it's completely free. Some
retailers are trying to make players buy starter decks or boosters,
but you don't need to. If a shop refuses to give you a Warp Pack,
then go somewhere else.
If you are having trouble getting one this way, Issue 2 of the
American CCG Magazine Ventura has a Warp Pack polybagged with it (the
mag will cost you around £3 from most comic/game shops) and if all
else fails, write to Decipher themselves, enclosing a couple of IRCs
and a HAND-WRITTEN self-addressed envelope to:
Decipher Inc.
